I have to say, waking up and walking onto the patio to see a golf course and mountains was a great way to start my morning! Quick back story, I am in California to shoot the 50th Anniversary Ferrari Club event and staying with my friend Bob who owns a beautiful Ferrari 430 Scuderia and also has a house 10 minutes from the main hotel. The main festivities don’t get started until tomorrow, so we decided to take a drive on the legendary “Palms to Pines” highway near Palm Springs. The name of the road reflects the scenery, palm trees to pine trees in just a few miles. This road was absolutely spectacular!! A combination of tight technical switchbacks combined with long sweeping turns, the perfect playground for the Scud. We spent the afternoon carving our way up the mountain one delightful turn after another. The car is so well balanced and responsive, combined with the exhaust note…pretty much a religious experience! This evening included the small kickoff party where we met up with the rest of the Ontario crew who drove their cars here from Vegas. There were some incredible cars in the parking lot including an Enzo, F40, 288 GTO, and several Daytona’s. The concours is tomorrow morning so I can’t wait to see what shows up! I am so grateful to have these incredible life experiences. Enjoy the photos:
