Yesterday I had the opportunity to photograph a very special and rare car, the Ferrari 599 SA Aperta. Only 80 of these beautiful convertibles were built as a tribute to Pininfarina’s 80th anniversary, and so far only 3 have made it onto Ontario roads. This stunning “Nero Stellato” example was fresh from the dealership with only delivery miles on the odometer. Even though I photographed another Aperta last summer I was still blown away when the owner drove the car up to the location. The freezing cold temperatures made the shoot a bit of a challenge (ever tried to adjust exposure with numb fingers?) but I was very happy with the results. This was my first full automotive photo session of 2012 and I hope the rest of the year is filled with more exciting machines! Enjoy the photos.

I have noticed that Ferraris have a sleek, downward body frame like that of an airplane. And that includes this one. By the looks of it, Ferrari wants their cars to have drag ability so potential top speeds can be surpassed and exceeded. Anyway, this car is a natural black beauty for me!
