On February 10th Nike put their exciting plan in motion at Ramsden Park in Downtown Toronto. The typical schedule on a Friday night has a shinny game played between 8-10pm, but this night would be a little different. We showed up with “Clutch The Truck” which is a completely custom vehicle made for Nike that travels to different shinny rinks around the city. This truck is equipped with a big screen TV, play station, skate sharpeners, hot chocolate, and loads of Nike Sportswear gear. The unsuspecting shinny players were floored when Luke Schenn from the Leafs and P.K. Suban from the Canadians showed up to be the guest coaches for the game, along with cheerleaders, a DJ, refreshments, and an announcer. The two NHL players divided the pile of sticks to pick teams and after the national anthems things were on their way. The atmosphere was electric with all the players skating their hearts out to impress the two high profile coaches standing behind the benches. As the buzzer went at 10pm it was a night that no one at the park will ever forget and another great event put on by Nike! To check out the truck at it’s next appearance visit www.clutchthetruck.com.
