It’s not too often that me and my friends have a long weekend off, so we decided to pack up and head out to Lake Placid for an adventure. I left my D3s at home and brought a little Nikon Coolpix point and shoot camera with me since we would be hiking through the snow. It is amazing how much we fit into only 2 days. Last night I was invited to take some shots at the Canadian unveiling of the brand new Corvette C7 Stingray. I have been to several car launches from manufacturers like Ferrari, Porsche, and Aston Martin, but this was my first experience shooting a Corvette launch. I have to say that GM put on a top notch event in all aspects of the evening! When the curtain finally dropped in the Fermenting Cellar in the Distillery District everyone was blown away, what an incredible machine.

It seemed like a quilt of metal, tacked together by a set of mysterious hands in the 1960’s. This was the “Speedster” version of the two 1961 Porsche 356B’s being restored behind the doors at Engineered Automotive, it’s close “Cabrio” brother sitting just across the room. These two cars had been sitting and rotting for many years, but the team at EA was recently commissioned to bring these iconic Porsche’s back to life.
